There are TWO, count 'em, TWO gigantic palmetto bugs in my bathroom, and I'm afraid to go in there.
For those not familiar with the joy that is the palmetto bug, think a 2-3" long cockroach that leaps off walls and ceilings at you.
What the fuck did I do to deserve Texas? The worst problem I had in California was fruit flies, and once I cleaned up the garbage they went away in a couple of days.
*cries*

Oh yeah, and there are lizards. You sometimes find cute little lizards in your kitchen. But they're much less scary than the bugs. Good luck catching the little bastards, though. They're quick.
This morning, I found one of the palmetto bugs in my coffeepot. (At least I HOPE it was one of the two I found last night.) Thank god it had sequestered itself in a small space, because I was able to fling it down the disposal and grind it up without having to come even close to touching it.
The thing that scares me now is I CAN'T FIND THE OTHER ONE. I was hoping it would still be in the bathroom so I could vacuum it up this morning.
On the up side, it's not in the bathtub, which I'm going to need this afternoon...
